Availability of essential diagnostic and treatment facilities under one roof is of crucial importance for prompt commencement of treatment and subsequent monitoring, besides being a big relief to cancer patients. This policy is always kept in view, in the process of developmental activities of this centre.

  1. High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachy Therapy Machine (Gamma Med 12 i)

The High Dose Rate Brachy Therapy Machine was formally inaugurated by Honorable Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Gahlot on 2nd July 2000. High dose rate Brachy Therapy Unit was installed on 13th September 1999. This unit was commissioned on 23rd October 1999.

  1. Tele Cobalt Radiotherapy Machine (Theratron 780- E)       

In the process of development of Acharya Tulsi Regional Cancer Treatment & Research Institute, Bikaner, various modalities of treatment and diagnosis have been installed. Shri Rajendra Choudhary Hon’ble Health Minister, Government of Rajasthan inaugurated these facilities on 2nd August 2001.

The Government of India provided Rs. 1.5 crore for the purchase of new cobalt machine in 1999-2000. However the cost of machine was about Rs. 1.70 crores. Thus the remaining amount (about Rs. 20 lacs) was funded by Rajasthan Medicare Relief Society (R.M.R.S.) of our institution. The cost (about Rs. 16 lacs) of construction of the building for the machine was provided by philanthropists through the auspices of Acharya Tulsi Shanti Pratisthan, Bikaner. Consequently a latest model of the Tele Cobalt Machine (Theratron 780-E) has been commissioned. The treatment on the new machine has commenced with effect from 11th June 2001.

  1. The Dual Head Variable Angle Gamma Camera with SPECT has been installed on 09-08-2002. It is being used for the Cancer patients as well as for other patients. It is the only equipment in Government and Public Hospitals of Rajasthan, which has been installed in our Institute and has costed about Rs. 193.20 Lakhs. Besides Radioisotope Laboratory has also been commissioned.
  2. A latest model of Ultrasonography Machine which has a provision for Brachytherapy planning software is also available.
  3. One 500 mA X-Ray Machine, which is capable of soft tissue Radiography at low kilo voltage, a useful feature for early detection of a SOL in soft tissue has been installed in our Institute.
  4. A Computerized Blood Cell Counter that has tailor made features to meet the needs of blood investigations of cancer patients, in an Oncology Center, is in existence.
  5. Semi Auto Analyzer (Biochemistry) - Installed.
  6. 3 D T.P.S. Machine - The machine has been installed and it is routinely used for the planning of Radiation therapy treatment of cancer patients.
  7. Radiotherapy Simulator - Purchased on deferred payment basis. The equipment has been installed on 26-08-2005 and is being used for cancer patients.
  8. Linear Accelerator- This is the ultimate modality of Radiation Therapy. The installation was completed in later half of 2007. The machine has been put to effective use for the treatment of cancer patients in 2008.
  9. Bhabhatron-II Cobalt machine has been provided by BARC, Govt. of India. It is an Indigenous product of BARC and funds for this have been provided by Govt. of India.

  11. Memmography machine for screening and early detection of cancer breast is installed in the institute and helping in detection in breast cancer.
  12. Surgical Oncology Wing was inaugrated by Acharya Maha Sharaman ji on13.12.2010 It is functioning with lot number of patients being benefited under the same roof.
  13. ICU was started for patient’s of Leukemia and Lymphoma.
  14. A major addition to above facilities in form of PET is applied for and likely to be installed in near future.
  15. IMRT an addition in the list of latest technology in Radiotherapy treatement is to be started      shortly. All the necessary installment have been made and training of persons is provided.Surgical ICU has been started, Palliative cancer care unit is to be started in near future.
